A press conference was held Tuesday to request the public’s help in solving the senseless murder of 22-yr old Dorian Holt on Sunday, July 8, 2012, at 4:45AM, in the 20000 block of Pricetown Ave. in the city of Carson. He was returning home when he was shot several times and found lying in the driveway of his home.
Dorian Holt’s mother, Clarinda Williams, spoke at the press conference, describing her son’s life including graduating from Cathedral Prep School and working seven days a week. Dorian’s jobs included working at Long Beach Memorial Hospital and at an after school program for children in the area. “We are a charitable family, a giving family,” she said.
Sheriff Lee Baca, City of Carson Mayor Jim Dear and Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau Lieutenant Matthew Burson all spoke, including asking anyone who heard or saw anything, to contact investigators.
“This is a community tragedy as much as it is a family tragedy,” said Sheriff Baca.
Joining them at the press conference were Carson Mayor Pro Tem Julie Ruiz-Raber, Councilman Mike Gipson, and Councilwoman Lula Davis-Holmes and many members of Dorian’s family. Also attending were LASD Chief James Lopez, Commander Todd Rogers, Carson Captain Eddie Rivero, Homicide Sergeant William Cotter, and Detective Michael Caouette Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The city of Carson is offering a $25,000 reward for any information in solving this brutal murder.
