Car Slips Off Jack Pinning Home Mechanic, Rescued by Sheriff’s Deputy, Explorer, And Community Service Office From Bail Bondsman In Palmdale

Palmdale Sheriff’s Station deputies received an emergent 911 call from a citizen on March 21st saying his friend was working on a vehicle near the 2000 Block of Avenue P-8, in the City of Palmdale when the vehicle fell on him.

Palmdale Dispatchers initiated a Code-3 rescue call, and Deputy Raymundo Wilson, along with his ride-along (Los Angeles County Sheriff Explorer Nicholas Hicks), responded from the Antelope Valley Mall. They arrived at the location at the same time as Palmdale City Community Service Officer Walter Andrew (who is also a Los Angeles County Reserve Deputy).

The trio rushed into the open garage at the residence and located the 33-year old male victim, who was pinned underneath the engine block of a vehicle. Because the front tires had been removed from the vehicle, when the car fell off the jack it trapped the victim, underneath. They saw the victim was semi-conscious and was struggling to breathe with the weight of the vehicle upon his chest.

Deputy Wilson and C.S.O. Andrew took hold of the front bumper and lifted the vehicle which enabled Explorer Hicks to reposition the fallen jack. The vehicle was then raised up enough to enable the victim to be pulled from underneath the car.

The victim was transported, via ambulance, to Antelope Valley Hospital where he was treated in the emergency room. According to the attending physician, he received extensive bruising to his face, chest and stomach. He explained because the weight of the vehicle had been upon his chest and stomach area, the victim could have suffocated had it not been for the quick actions by Deputy Wilson, C.S.O. Andrew, and Explorer Hicks. The physician indicated because of the trio’s decisive actions and efficient performance, it resulted in not only saving the patient’s life, but in preventing potentially serious internal injuries. The victim was treated and released from the hospital and has since been recovering from the incident.

Deputy Wilson, C.S.O. Andrew, and Explorer Hicks have been recommended for the Sheriff’s Department Life Saving Award, due to their, heroic actions.

Shots fired at LASD Lancaster Sheriff's Deputy During DUI Investigation. 2nd Arrest Made at 10:02AM, Sun From Bail Bondsman In Lancaster

Multiple shots were fired at a Lancaster sheriff's deputy Sunday at 2:20AM when he attempted to make a traffic stop of a suspected drunk driver.

The incident began when the suspect vehicle pulled into a parking lot near the intersection of Avenue J and 20th Street West, followed by the deputy in his marked black and white sheriff's radio car.

Several shots were fired from the suspect vehicle in the direction of the deputy. The gunfire missed the deputy, but the storefronts of two local businesses were hit by gun shots, including at least one round that shattered a window. No people were hit.

The suspect vehicle and its two occupants fled the scene and the deputy immediately requested backup deputies via his sheriff's radio. The deputy followed the path he last saw the suspect vehicle, which was northbound onto the 14 freeway from Avenue J.

While searching for the suspects, the deputy found that the suspect vehicle had collided into a fence on Avenue I at the freeway off ramp. The two suspects fled the vehicle on foot.

Assisting Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies quickly arrived and set up a containment (surrounded the area) and located and detained one of the suspects in a field north of Avenue I. 29-year old Suspect Donald Ray Scott of Palmdale, who is on Probation, was arrested at the scene.

The second suspect was not found at the scene during the search.

A handgun was found in the suspects vehicle.

The investigation continued through the early morning hours, and at 10:02AM Sunday, a second possible suspect, 34-year old Suspect Wilbur Winston Williams of Lancaster, was located and arrested by sheriff's investigators near on the 44000 block of Fern Avenue in Lancaster.

Both suspects were booked at Lancaster Sheriff's Station for Attempted Murder on a Peace Officer and are each being held on $1,000,000.00 bail.

Sheriff's Homicide Bureau detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man on Friday, March 23, which occurred in the 2000 block of West Avenue K, Lancaster.

Detectives have learned that the suspect allegedly entered the location with the intent to rob the business. The suspect allegedly shot and killed the owner of the business and stole several electronic devices. Most of the property stolen from the location was recovered at a nearby residence.

The suspect was identified as 24-year-old Timothy Johnson, male Black, dark complexion, 6' 2", 170 lbs., with a closely shaved head. His whereabouts are unknown.

"Safety Vest Bandit" WANTED for 12 Armed Robberies Throughout Los Angeles County including Walgreens And CVS From Bail Bondsman In Long Beach

Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect believed to have committed 12 robberies throughout Los Angeles County.

The suspect is described as a male Black in his 30's, 600-602 tall, 225-250 pounds, salt and pepper hair, wearing a ball cap and armed with a semi automatic pistol.

Early in the series the suspect wore a green reflective safety vest during the robberies.

Since November 2011, the suspect has robbed several Walgreens and CVS drug stores in Torrance, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Carson, Norwalk, Long Beach and Lomita.

The most recent robbery occurred on March 18, 2012 at a CVS store in the city of Lomita. The suspect was armed with a handgun during each robbery and should be considered armed and dangerous

Detectives are releasing surveillance photos of the suspect in hopes that someone will recognize him and come forward before he strikes again.

“This is one of the most active armed robbers in Los Angeles County this year,” commented Lieutenant Kent Wegener of the Sheriff’s Major Crimes Detail. “We are hoping that the public will help us identify him before his violence escalates.”

LOS ANGELES – The head of Peace and Joy Care Center – a Carson-based non-profit organization that provides services for domestic violence victims under a contract with Los Angeles County – was arrested today for allegedly ordering employees to assist in the creation of fraudulent bills totaling more than $700,000.

Wilma Wilson, 61 (dob 11/11/51), was arrested without incident at her Carson home by investigators of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Bureau of Investigation. Two longtime employees, Lisa Corona, 43 (dob 10/10/68), of Cerritos and Melanie McAllister, 49 (dob 6/28/62), of San Pedro also were arrested.

Los Angeles County District Attorney Steve Cooley said the Internal Welfare Fraud Unit of the District Attorney’s Public Integrity Division aggressively targets this type of crime for the purpose of recovering and restoring taxpayer money to financially strapped county coffers and punishing those who create such schemes.

“This criminal filing is another example of how an apparently worthwhile project becomes a vehicle for defrauding public benefit programs,” Cooley said.

An arraignment date for Wilson and her co-defendants has not been set. The women are charged in case No. BA393579.

Nipa Cook, Deputy-In-Charge of the Internal Welfare Fraud Unit, said Wilson faces two counts of grand theft and one count of conspiracy to commit a crime. The complaint includes excessive-taking allegations of more than $700,000. Corona and McAllister are charged with one count of each of grand theft and conspiracy to commit a crime.

Wilson, executive director of Peace and Joy Care Center, is accused of directing Corona and McAllister and several other employees to gather names and personal identifying information of public benefit recipients at Department of Public Social Services offices.

Wilson purportedly used that information to bill the county for various services, including counseling sessions. Wilson also extensively over-billed the county for “clients” who received limited services from Peace and Joy Care Center, according to the prosecutor.

Under Wilson’s orders, Corona and McAllister and other employees allegedly created fraudulent files with forged signatures and bogus case notes for the purposes of backing up the bills to the county and deceiving county auditors, the prosecutor said.

A joint investigation by the District Attorney’s Bureau of Investigation and the Office of the Auditor-Controller of Los Angeles County with assistance from the Department of Public Social Services revealed that Wilson’s alleged practices of fraudulent billing and over-billing were in effect from 2003 to 2008.

Bail for Wilson is recommended at $700,000. Corona’s bail is recommended at $180,000 and McAllister’s recommended bail is $500,000.

If convicted as charged, Wilson faces a maximum sentence of eight years, eight months in state prison. Corona and McAllister may be sentenced up to five years in prison, if convicted of all counts.

Shortly before noon on Tuesday (February 28, 2012) a search warrant was served in the 43000 block of 16th Street West in the city of Lancaster. As a result of the warrant, LANCAP Deputies seized nearly five pounds of packaged marijuana, a large caliber handgun, and nearly four hundred dollars in cash. The marijuana has an estimated street value of three
thousand dollars.
They also seized other evidence related to the sales of marijuana.
The resident, 32 year old Dewayne Curry was arrested and faces charges related to the sales of marijuana as well as being a convicted felon in possession on a firearm.
The warrant was part of an on-going investigation led by “LANCAP” deputies into the sales of narcotics at the location.

Santa Clarita deputies arrest unlicensed driver with about 1.5 kilos of cocaine and methamphetamines in Canyon Country

A deputy assigned to the Santa Clarita Sheriff's Station's Crime Prevention Team conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle near Sand Canyon Road and the Antelope Valley 14 Freeway, Canyon Country, yesterday.

It was determined that the driver of the vehicle, Moises Marroquin, was unlicensed and he was detained. Through further investigation, deputies saw indications of narcotic activity and searched the suspect vehicle.

A narcotics canine was called to the location to conduct an additional search of the vehicle. The dog indicated on narcotics hidden inside the passenger compartment of the vehicle.

Deputies recovered approximately one kilogram of cocaine and ½ kilogram of methamphetamine from inside the vehicle.

The suspect, Moises Marroquin, Hispanic male 06-02-1986, of Las Vegas Nevada was booked at Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station on felony charges of possession of cocaine and methamphetamine for sales and transportation of cocaine and methamphetamine. He is being held without bail and is due in San Fernando Superior Court on March 1, 2012.

The street resale value of the cocaine is estimated to be approximately $32,000. The street value of the methamphetamine is estimated to be approximately $20,000.

Attempt Murder On a Peace Officer, Grand Theft, Felony Evading, two suspects arrested From Bail Bondsman In Compton

A male motorist led deputies on a slightly more than 10-minute chase through the Compton area and Downey before being taken into custody where two suspects were eventually captured.

The chase began around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Compton area after deputies responded to a reported burglary of a business.

The initial on scene deputy saw two males Hispanics getting into a white pickup truck that was loaded with scrap metal. The deputy ordered the two men to stop but was ignored. The males entered the white pickup truck and drove toward the deputies’ vehicle crashing into it starting the pursuit.

The motorist was chased on the eastbound Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway, the northbound Long Beach (710) Freeway and streets in Downey.

The suspect exited the Long Beach Freeway at Imperial Highway and drove into an industrial area near Garfield Avenue. He then abandoned the truck, running along the banks of the Los Angeles River, and then crossing it while the other suspect was being detained by deputy personnel.

After a few minutes or trying to avoid capture the remaining suspect slowed to a walk as deputies closed in, and then gave up, wet and exhausted. It was discovered that the suspect’s vehicle was loaded with various amounts of scrap metal from the business. The suspects were arrested and booked for felony evading of a police officer, grand theft and attempt murder on a police officer.

Copper Pipe Thieves Arrested Crawling Under Home From Bail Bondsman In Compton

A call of people crawling under a home Saturday at 10:30am, sent sheriff's deputies to a possible home burglary.

Compton Sheriff's Station deputies arrived at the vacant house on S. Tamarind Ave. in Compton within three minutes and heard voices coming from underneath the home.

Apparently the hidden suspects heard deputies asking for a sheriff's K-9 unit and decided it was in their best interest to surrender.

The investigation by deputies revealed that the suspects were allegedly there to steal copper piping from underneath the home.

In thefts like this, copper plumbing piping is taken from a home, then the thieves typically go to a recycling center where the material is sold as scrap.

Two suspects who were arrested after crawling underneath the home were identified as 19-year old Guillermo Fraire (Bkg No. 3062957), and 18-year old Michele Damato (Bkg No. 3063003).

Also taken into custody was 25-year old Fatima Alvaro (Bkg No. 3062950) who waited in the get-away car outside the vacant home.

Inside the suspects gold 2005 Chevrolet Impala, deputies found additional copper pipes taken from another residence.

The three suspects were arrested for residential burglary and booked at the Century Regional Detention Facility of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Each has a bail set at $50,000.00. The three suspects are Compton residents.

Suspect in Santa Clarita shopping mall sexual assault of 11-year old pleads, is sentenced From Bail Bondsman In Santa Clarita

Alleged molester pleads to shopping mall attack

SAN FERNANDO – A 26-year-old Santa Clarita man accused of sexually assaulting a child in a shopping mall restroom pleaded no contest today, the District Attorney’s Office announced.

Deputy District Attorney Laura Knight Jackson of the San Fernando Branch Office said Casey Crockett pleaded to one count of lewd act upon a child under age 14.

San Fernando Superior Court Judge Hilleri Merritt immediately sentenced Crockett to three years in state prison. Crockett must also register as a sex offender for life.

The charge stems from an incident on Oct. 17, 2011, during which Crockett molested a child in a public restroom stall at the Westfield Valencia Town Center.

The case was investigated by the Special Victims Bureau of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Soccer coach charged with child sex crimes. LASD Special Victims investigators seeking possible additional victims From Bail Bondsman In Los Angeles

Detectives from Sheriff’s Special Victims Bureau are conducting an investigation involving the alleged sexual molestation of two 14-year old soccer players by their club team coach, Suspect Javier Arrioja.

The case originated when a 14-year old Hispanic male reported to East Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station deputies that he had been inappropriately touched by his 48-year old soccer coach. The lewd acts were alleged to have occurred in the suspect’s car in Obregon Park in East Los Angeles, and in the coach’s home in East Los Angeles during early November 2011.

The Sheriff’s Special Victims Bureau investigation resulted in identifying a second 14-year old male Hispanic victim who reported similar lewd acts committed by the suspect in the suspect’s car. The second case is still under investigation.

The suspect allegedly touched the victims in an inappropriate manner.

Suspect Arrioja is a coach for the “Missioneros,” a private soccer club for boys under age 17. He has coached boys and girls soccer teams in the Los Angeles area for over 15 years.

On February 17, 2012, Special Victims Bureau detectives contacted and arrested the suspect at his home in the 100 block of N. Townsend Ave, East Los Angeles without incident. The suspect was transported and booked at the East Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. He is being held on $300,000.00 bail.


On February 22, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed 4 felony counts of Lewd Acts with a Minor and 1 felony count of Providing Harmful Matter to a Minor against Suspect Arrioja.

$100M in PCP, $389K in cash, Assault Weapons, seized by L.A.IMPACT. Intended for national distribution From Bail Bondsman In Los Angeles

On February 15, 2012, members of the Los Angeles Interagency Metropolitan Police Apprehension Crime Task Force (L.A. IMPACT) seized more than 130 gallons of finished Phencyclidine (PCP) along with precursor chemicals to manufacture an additional 500 gallons of PCP and two assault weapons. Also recovered was $389,000.00 in United States currency.

The investigation stemmed from information received from Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Special Agents in Los Angeles. L.A. IMPACT investigators developed the case and during the month-long investigation, L.A. IMPACT investigators learned that a suspect with links to a Los Angeles street gang was actively involved with the manufacturing of PCP. The investigation revealed that the suspect’s organization would distribute PCP across the country via commercial package delivery companies.

Investigators observed and intercepted suspicious deliveries that were addressed to locations in Texas. Investigators detected a chemical odor emitting from these boxes and tests later confirmed that each box contained approximately three (3) gallons of PCP.

Based on the above information, L.A. IMPACT investigators, along with members of the Los Angeles Police Department served search warrants at multiple locations. During those searches, they recovered another 121 gallon of PCP, firearms, and the above mentioned U.S. currrency.

*Total estimated individual doses for the 130 gallons of of PCP seized is 9,984,000.

Brother Who Shot Brother During Tues. Argument in Walnut Arrested in West Covina From Bail Bondsman In Walnut

Less than 48 hours after shooting his brother during a quarrel at the family home in the city of Walnut, 40 year-old Sean Alexander Kent was arrested on the 300 block of South Prospero Drive, by an officer of the West Covina Police Department.

West Covina Police Officer Street recognized the vehicle driven by Kent based on a Special Bulletin distributed by Detectives from Walnut / Diamond Bar Sheriff’s Station to local law enforcement agencies following the shooting Tuesday.

Suspect Kent was later transferred to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department - Walnut / Diamond Bar Sheriff’s Station, where he was booked on one count of Assault with a Deadly Weapon with a Firearm. His bail is $50,000. He is expected to be arraigned in Pomona Court early next week.

Just after 2:00 PM this afternoon, deputies responded to a residence in the 19800 block of Vista Hermosa Drive, Walnut, regarding a family disturbance and a gunshot victim at the location.

Deputies arrived swiftly and discovered one male adult (a male Black/43, resident of Walnut) was shot in the leg during an argument.

The suspect, who was identified as the victim’s brother, Sean Kent (MB/40, resident of Walnut) fled the scene prior to deputies’ arrival.

The victim’s injury was not considered life-threatening. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Deputy personnel are searching the area for Suspect Kent, who is described as a male Black, 40 years old, 5’10”/185 pounds, with an unknown clothing description.

The weapon used in the shooting has not yet been recovered and the suspect may be armed. If you see the suspect, do not contact him or attempt to detain him. Instead, dial 9-1-1 and advise law enforcement personnel.

Suspect Arrested in Attempted Murder, Residential, Robbery, Kidnapping And Rape Case in Stevenson Ranch From Bail Bondsman In Santa Clarita

The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station Detective Bureau has been investigating a brutal sexual assault that occurred on Holmes Place in Unincorporated Los Angeles County, Stevenson Ranch during the early morning hours on January 8th, 2012.

A residential robbery was reported to patrol deputies who learned that an adult female at the location was sexually assaulted during the robbery. Members of the Sheriff’s Crime lab responded to the location and processed the crime scene collecting several pieces of evidence. Detective Campbell from the Santa Clarita Valley Detective Bureau Robbery/Assault team also responded and started the investigation.

Detective Campbell worked closely with the Stevenson Ranch Homeowner’s Association which assisted in providing video footage near the crime scene. Detectives from the Robbery/Assault team combed the neighborhood for information and witnesses.

A series of small clues, DNA evidence, and the skilled detective work by Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Detective Campbell helped provide the information needed to identify the suspect responsible for this vicious attack.

Through department resources, Detective Campbell was able to obtain a recent photo of the potential suspect and his last known address. On February 16, 2012, Detectives conducted a surveillance of the suspect’s residence and saw the suspect exiting his residence. He was taken into custody without incident.

Detectives from the Santa Clarita Robbery/Assault Team served a search warrant at the suspect’s home on Steinbeck Avenue in Stevenson Ranch. Detective Campbell recovered property that appeared to be connected to the incident at the location.

Stevenson Ranch Resident 18-year old Suspect Jerry Moon, the man suspected in the brutal sexual assault is in custody at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station. Moon was booked at the station this morning for attempted murder, home invasion robbery, kidnapping and rape, Moon is being held in lieu of $2.45 million bail and is scheduled to appear in San Fernando Superior Court on Tuesday.

Suspended Driver's License Leads to 9 Arrests and $1 Million Marijuana Grow House From Bail Bondsman In Lancaster

On Thursday, February 9, 2012, deputies from Lancaster Sheriff’s Station conducted a traffic stop at around 2AM at the 40th Street West / Avenue D, in Unincorporated County area of Lancaster.


After contacting the driver, 29-year old Suspect Harry Kaladjian of Lancaster, they discovered that he was driving with a suspended driver's license and he was on active probation.



Based on his probation status, the deputies went to his home located in the 7200 block of West Avenue A in Unincorporated Lancaster, to conduct a probation compliance check.


Once inside the home, they found a sophisticated marijuana growing operation.


Several rooms inside the home had been converted into growing areas, complete with planting beds and artificial lighting. The deputies recovered approximately 800 plants in various stages of growth. They also recovered several large plastic bags full of processed marijuana.


n addition to the marijuana growing operation, the deputies also found a “hash oil” processing area.



The marijuana has an estimated street value of one million dollars.



The investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by the Sheriff’s Department’s Narcotics Bureau.



In addition to the driver of the car, deputies arrested eight other suspects who were inside the home. It is unclear if all of the suspects lived at the home.

Gang member sentenced to 6 years in prison for robbing a puppy from a 9-year old girl From Bail Bondsman In Industry

A gang member has been sentenced to state prison for the robbery of a 9 year old girl of her puppy.

On April 7, 2010, at 7:35 p.m., the 9-year old girl walked to a market on Workman Mill Road in Bassett with her uncle to buy her new “Blue Pit Bull” puppy a dog collar.

The girl entered the market and selected a nice pink collar and the victim’s uncle proceeded to pay for it. The victim waited just outside the market’s front doors with her puppy on a leash.

While waiting for her uncle to make the purchase, 26-year old Jose Castrejon, a “Bassett Grande” gang member, snuck up behind the unsuspected little girl and grabbed the puppy from behind the neck. Castrejon pulled with such force; he easily overpowered the defenseless victim. The little girl held the leash in her hand, still attached to the puppy’s neck.

Store surveillance video captured the robbery which depicts the victim sliding across the sidewalk. The little girl was no match for Castrejon and she could not hold onto the leash. Castrejon entered his truck with the dog and sped away.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department gang unit, Operation Safe Streets Bureau (OSS), was assigned the robbery investigation. OSS Detectives Glen Eads and Gerhaldt Groenow quickly investigated, identified, and arrested Jose Castrejon as the culprit of the crime.

Jose Castrejon was arrested a day after the robbery. “Mia” the puppy was recovered from Jose Castrejon and reunited with the victim. She was then able to place the new pink collar on her new puppy.

Castrejon was ultimately released from custody on bail awaiting arraignment and further court proceedings. While on bail, he was arrested for a firearm violation in San Bernadino County and his bail was revoked. In late November 2011, Castrejon stood trail for robbery.

With such compelling video evidence, on February 1, 2012, at Pomona Superior Court, Castrejon was sentenced to six years in California State Prison for robbery. The case was prosecuted by the Office of the Los Angeles County District Attorney.

Bassett is an unincorporated community in the San Gabriel Valley policed by the Industry Sheriff's Station of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Second Miramonte School Teacher Arrested Friday From Bail Bondsman In Los Angeles

This morning at about 10:00am, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Special Victims Bureau investigators arrested a second teacher, Suspect Martin Bernard Springer, who works at Miramonte school in South Los Angeles.

As a result of recent requests from the Sheriff’s Department for members of the public to contact us with any information regarding possible criminal activity at Miramonte school, we received new information yesterday (Thursday) morning. That information led investigators to 49-year old Suspect Martin Springer, a resident of Alhambra.

Since Wednesday morning, Sheriff’s investigators interviewed several people, including Suspect Springer. Meanwhile, Suspect Springer was suspended and removed from the classroom by Los Angeles Unified School District officials. Suspect Springer has been under surveillance by Sheriff’s detectives since yesterday.

As a result of the ongoing investigation by Sheriff’s Special Victims Bureau detectives, Suspect Springer was arrested this morning for Lewd Acts Upon a Child and booked at the Inmate Reception Center of the Los Angeles County jail. His bail is set at $2 million.

He was arrested by detectives existing a school building at 107th Street and Western in South Los Angeles.

The allegations involve two girls who were allegedly fondled in the classroom at Miramonte school by Suspect Springer. They were approximately 7-years old at the time of the incidents, which were alleged to have occurred during the past three years. The investigation is continuing.

This case will be presented to the Office of the Los Angeles County District Attorney for consideration for filing of felony charges of Lewd Acts Upon a Child, by Tuesday morning.

We anticipated, as often occurs in cases like this, that more information and potential victims come forward. Sheriff Baca understands the public’s concern about this and has dedicated the necessary resources to thoroughly investigate all the information that we have received and will receive.

Palmdale Detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying Copper Thieves From Bail Bondsman In Palmdale

Palmdale Detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying suspects that caused over $100,000 dollars in damage while stripping wires from a concrete plant near 7186 East Avenue T.

On January 13th, Palmdale Station Deputies responded to the “Rialto Concrete Products” plant for a burglary investigation in which the suspect(s) entered the property through a cut chain link fence and stripped over 20 electrical boxes inside of the plant. The plant manufactures concrete piping for various construction companies.

Employees of the plant were unsure of the amount of wiring the suspects got away with from the theft, but estimate the repair costs to be in the range of $100,000. Detectives believe the thieves were after the copper core inside the wiring. Palmdale Station has seen a rise in thefts related to metal items being taken in an attempt to recycle them for money.

Shots fired near school. Parents flee. Suspects Drive Backwards And Ram Deputies Patrol Car. Parolees arrested From Bail Bondsman In Compton

Several minutes before school let out, Compton Station deputies heard gunshots in the vicinity of Longfellow Elementary School, 1100 Block of South Dwight Avenue, Compton.

They checked the area and saw people fleeing for their safety who pointed to a grey car involved in a car-to-car shooting. The deputies saw a grey Lexus with two male black occupants in the street parallel to a parked vehicle.

The suspects in the Lexus, upon seeing the deputies, immediately drove in reverse and recklessly endangered several parents waiting to pick up their children from school. The deputies immediately initiated a vehicle pursuit of the shooting suspects.

The pursuit terminated at the end of Caldwell Street, just east of Oleander Avenue, when the suspects abruptly drove backwards and intentionally rammed the pursuing Sheriff’s patrol car. The deputies took quick action and were able to take both suspects into custody without further incident.

The subsequent investigation identified the 18-year old victim of the shooting and found him to be unharmed. Evidence was collected, which included the recovery of a pistol believed to be used in the shooting.

The suspects, 21 year-old, Corey Coleman, a resident of Compton, and 22 year-old, Darius Oliver, a Long Beach resident, were booked for Attempt Murder and Assault with a Deadly Weapon on Peace Officers, and are being held without bail on parole violations.

The deputies involved in the pursuit were not injured, nor were any parents or students.

WANTED: Attempt Murder of Peace Officer in Temple City -Suspect Sketch. Jan.2 Deputy-Involved Shooting From Bail Bondsman In Temple

On Monday, January 2, 2012, at about 4:25PM, a Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputy conducted a traffic stop of a bicyclist in the 10500 block of Lower Azusa Avenue in Temple City.

During the contact,the deputy attempted to place the suspect under arrest for a narcotic related offense.

The suspect resisted the arrest and began fighting with the deputy. During the struggle, the suspect gabbed and attempted to take the deputy’s gun from his holster.

The deputy maintained control of his sidearm and broke the grasp of the suspect.

The suspect kicked and punched the deputy in his face and chest area during the fight.

As the suspect began to run from the location, the deputy ordered the suspect to stop.

As the suspect turned towards the deputy, he pulled a dark object from his waistband.

Believing the suspect had armed himself with a handgun and fearing for his safety, the deputy fired one round at the suspect.

The suspect ran southbound from the location.

It is unknown if the suspect was struck by the round.

A containment (search perimter) was set up and the subsequent search of the area did not locate the suspect.

The suspect is WANTED for Attempted Murder of a Peace Officer. He is described as:

32-37 year old Hispanic male.
Black hair, light eyes (possibly hazel)
5'08' - 5'11' tall
160-180 pounds


The suspect left his bicycle at the scene.

The deputy involved in the incident was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for minor injuries received during the assault.

An ongoing investigation is being conducted by detectives from Temple Sheriff's Station Detective Bureau, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Palmdale Deputies Assist in Capture of Walk-aways from Camp Mendenhall From Bail Bondsman In Palmdale

On 01/12/12, two juvenile offenders assigned to Camp Mendenhall, located at 42230 N. Lake Hughes Rd. Lake Hughes, walked away from a supervised hike near the camp. Los Angeles County Probation Department officials notified Palmdale Sheriff’s Station and deputies responded to complete a missing persons report and assist Probation Department personnel with an area search. The two subjects were not located.

This morning (01/13/12) at approximately 8:30 AM, a resident of Lake Hughes called Palmdale Station and advised that two juveniles wearing probation camp jumpsuits were contacting residents and asking to use the phone. Palmdale Deputies responded to the area and again coordinated a search effort with personnel from the Los Angeles County Probation Department.

While conducting the search, a second call was received at Palmdale Station from a resident, indicating an updated location of the two offenders, behind a local business near the 17500 Block of Elizabeth Lake Rd, in the Lake Hughes area. Deputies contained the location and both offenders were taken into custody by Probation and Sheriff’s Department personnel without incident. The offenders were taken back into custody by the Los Angeles County Probation Department.

DUI checkpoint this Friday in Palmdale. Drive Sober, Choose Your Ride Home From Bail Bondsman In Palmdale

The Palmdale Sheriff’s Station Traffic Unit will be conducting a DUI Checkpoint on Friday, January 13, 2012 at an undisclosed location within the city limits between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m.

DUI checkpoints are a proven enforcement tool effective in reducing the number of persons killed and injured in alcohol involved crashes. Research shows that crashes involving alcohol drop by an average of 20 percent when well-publicized checkpoints are conducted often enough.

Officers will be contacting drivers passing through the checkpoint for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment. Officers will also check for proper licensing and will strive to delay motorists only momentarily. Drivers caught driving impaired can expect jail, license suspension, and insurance increases, as well as fines, fees, DUI classes, other expenses that can exceed $10,000.

“Over the course of the past three years, DUI collisions have claimed 7 lives and resulted in 88 injury crashes harming 121 of our friends and neighbors,” said Sgt M. Johnston.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), checkpoints have provided the most effective documented results of any of the DUI enforcement strategies, while also yielding considerable cost savings of $6 for every $1 spent. Checkpoints are placed in locations that have the greatest opportunity for achieving drunk and drugged driving deterrence and provide the greatest safety for officers and the public.

“Deaths from drunk and drug-impaired driving are going down in California,” said Christopher J. Murphy, Director of the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS). “But that still means that hundreds of our friends, family and co-workers are killed each year, along with tens of thousands who are seriously injured. We must all continue to work together to bring an end to these tragedies. If you see a Drunk Driver – Call 9-1-1.”

Funding for this checkpoint is provided to the City of Palmdale by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, targeting those who still don’t heed the message to designate a sober driver.

4 Arrests, $250K in Stolen Trademarked Plastic Recovered by City of Industry Sheriff's ($5M in plastic in 5 mo's) From Bail Bondsman In Industry

Four Los Angeles men were arrested in connection with $250,000 worth of stolen, trademarked plastic products.

The items were discovered around 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 10, 2011, at the R and P Industries recycling business, located on the 700 block of East 59th Street, Los Angeles (Vermont-Slauson community)

Detectives from the Sheriff’s Plastic Industrial Theft Task Force, based out of Industry Sheriff’s Station, went to the location and conducted a Business and Professions Code compliance check of a recycling business. There, they discovered ceiling-high stacks of stolen, trademarked plastics, such as pallets, crates, collapsible totes, and bread baskets; these items were all found intact.

In addition, sixty-three 2,000-pound gaylord bags containing plastic grind were located. A large industrial plastic-grinding machine, a band saw and other tools used to grind plastic were also located.

(Suspects) Business owner, Regelio Casimiro (MH/50), and employees Heredia Espinoza (MH/26), Dorian Carrillo (MH/23), and Salvador Cortez (MH/36), were arrested for Possession of Stolen Property and Illegal Possession of Trademarked Property. They were booked at Industry Sheriff’s Station, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, and each is being held in lieu of $20,000 bail.

Teen hears burglar, hides, calls 911. Burglar pretends to be homeowner, is arrested by LASD in Valinda From Bail Bondsman In Industry

Industry Sheriff’s Station deputies responded at 11:10 AM Wednesday to the 16800 block of Lawnwood Street, Unincorporated Area of Valinda, regarding an emergency call for service of a burglary in progress.

Dispatchers spoke with a 15-year-old boy on the telephone who said he heard someone trying to break into his home. Fearing for his safety, the boy grabbed a portable telephone, ran to his bed and hid under the sheets.

The boy provided updates to the dispatcher as the patrol deputies responded to the house. At one point, the suspect was pillaging the same room where the boy took refuge.

As deputies arrived, they saw the suspect inside the home. The deputies approached the front door and were greeted by the suspect, who acted as if he lived in the home. The deputies knew the
suspect did not live there.

The suspect, identified as Suspect Aurelio Hernandez, a 42-year of resident of Valinda, was arrested and booked at Industry Sheriff’s Station and is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Woman threatens bus passengers, force was used, taken to mental observation From Bail Bondsman In Lakewood

On Monday, January 9, 2012, at approximately 5:19 PM, Lakewood Sheriff’s Station deputies received a call of a disturbance at a bus stop located at Artesia Boulevard and Lakewood Boulevard in the city of Bellflower.

The called stated a “Female White, 40 years old, wearing a white sweatshirt”, was causing a disturbance at the bus stop and was threatening awaiting passengers with violence. The caller’s comments included:

“…She is trying to pick a fight on anybody. She almost hit an old man…she seems like she got out of prison… I’ll beat up all you guys…there‘s some ladies here also and we, we’re trying to stay away from her.. and she is trying to pick a fight with anybody...She’s on the bus with us, oh my God…”

The caller said the disturbing party then boarded MTA Bus #266, along with other citizens and continued northbound on Lakewood Boulevard. The caller was also on the bus.

Lakewood Sheriff’s Station deputies were dispatched to the call and stopped the bus northbound on Lakewood Boulevard at Alondra Boulevard in Bellflower.

Deputies boarded the bus and made contact with the disturbing party, a 41-year old woman. The deputies immediately recognized her as an individual who had a history of assaulting deputies and had a propensity for violence.

Deputies said they requested the woman to exit the bus, but she refused, began shouting profanities at them, and threatened to assault them. The deputies stated that a use of force was necessary because she was aggressive. One deputy used an elbow strike that caused her to fall on a nearby seat. Deputies were able to gain control of her and handcuffed her without further incident.

She was transported to an undisclosed hospital, where she was examined by medical professionals. Medical professionals said they did not see any visible sign of injury as a result of the use of force.

She continued to display a combative behavior toward medical staff. She was admitted to the hospital for a 72-hour mental observation hold, under the authority of 5150 of the California State Welfare and Institutions Code. She was not arrested.

She has four prior convictions for assaulting peace officers.
Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca said he was disturbed by the incident. He confirmed it was his understanding the woman was homeless and had a history of mental problems. "She's noted for having verbal conflicts with people in the community, and she's been noted also to get in verbal conflicts with law enforcement," said Sheriff Baca. "And she's assaulted on several occasions law enforcement officers."

"I think I have an obligation to understand what this lady's plight is. And I have a greater obligation to make sure she's just not spending all this time in jail and then when she gets out she's back on the street," Sheriff Baca said.

The use of force and manner in which this incident was handled is under investigation to determine the full facts of what occurred. The investigation will include oversight by the Office of Independent Review.

DUI / Driver's License Checkpoint Nets 40 Arrests Friday in Bellflower From Bail Bondsman In Bellflower

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Risk Management Bureau’s Traffic Services Detail deputies conducted a DUI/DL Checkpoint on Friday, January 6, 2012 as part of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department commitment to public safety.

The Checkpoint was one of many that have been or will be conducted throughout the year in the city of Bellflower. The location of Friday’s Checkpoint was on Alondra Boulevard and Woodruff Avenue, Bellflower.

The goal of the DUI/DL Checkpoint was to remove impaired drivers and to bring awareness to the public of the dangers of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

There were 1,286 drivers that were checked at the Checkpoint that evening which resulted in the following:

Max term for teacher’s aide convicted of sexual assaults of students with disabilities From Bail Bondsman In Los Angeles

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge Thursday imposed the maximum possible sentence on a former high school teacher’s aide convicted of sexually abusing two special education students, the District Attorney’s Office announced.

Deputy District Attorney Rachel Moser Greene of the Sex Crimes Division said 45-year-old Oscar Enrique Santos of La Puente was sentenced to 18 years in state prison. Judge Sam Ohta indicated the prison term may not be served in county jail.

Jurors convicted Santos on Nov. 10, 2011, of 21 felony counts including oral copulation of an incompetent person, oral copulation of a person under 18 and sexual battery by restraint.

The charges involve two girls with developmental disabilities – one of whom is confined to a wheelchair – who were assaulted between 2005 and 2007 when Santos was a teacher’s aide at Garfield High School in East Los Angeles.

At the time, the defendant was responsible for assisting a male student who is gravely disabled. The assaults took place on campus when the girls, then ages 16 and 17, were between classes.

Santos attacked the young women on multiple occasions in an on-campus elevator, keeping the elevator moving up and down between floors while he carried out the assaults, the prosecutor said.

Evidence presented at trial to establish Santos’ pattern of conduct revealed that the defendant had a history of similar complaints as testified to by a third, uncharged victim who Santos unsuccessfully attempted to lure into the elevator.

The case was investigated by the Special Victims Bureau of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

LEGAL Bail Percentage rate in California

We at All American Bail Bonds have been conducting bail for over ten years and we always seem to get the same questions, due to misconceptions regarding our industry.

the common misconception is that we the bail bondsman have the ability to negotiate below the legal percentage rate set by law, the set rate that all bail bondman are required to charge. The legal percentage in California is no more than 10% but no less than 8% under certain restrictions.

Below are some common questions are client services receive and the appropriate answers.

Q. I called another company who said they charge 3%, why are you charging more?

A. What that company is doing is illegal, it's better known as bait and switch. What their trying to do is get you in the front door and than they drop on you your remaining balance of 7% more. Not cool, but we get this complaint often.

Q. Why can't you charge what ever you want?

A. We as bail bondsman are licensed bail agents AKA Insurance agents licensed through the department of insurance. The department of insurance dictates by law the legal limits of a bond, bail or other, may cost. If a company charges less than the legal limits they are not only breaking the law but also performing in a matter in which you should question their integrity.

Q. What is the Zero Down Bail Program and how much interest do you charge.

A. The Zero Down (No money down programs) are normally based on the guarantee given through the indemnitor. What this means is basically we look at the financial stability, of the indemnitor, such as job history, credit, or even collateral.

As far as interest is concerned, it is illegal for a bail bonding company to charge more than the set rate, such as interest. We as bail bondsman are not a finance company.
Please Note: A Bail Bonding Service can legally charge additional fees such as "agent fees" for travel, notary, or any additional service in addition to their jobs as bail agents.
Personal Note: The additional fees are highly Negotiable, due to the nature of our competitiveness. If you ask, many of these fees may be waived.

Q. What is the lowest legal rate for a Bail Bond?

A. As per Proposition 103 the lowest legal rate that any one Bail Bonding company can charge is 8%, anything less is ILLEGAL.

Q. What if I don't pay, What will happen?

A. The department of insurance has ruled that bail bonding company's can no longer revoke bond when any portion of the bail bond has been paid unless full refund has been given. In other words, non pay of a bail bond turns into a civil matter and if the company revokes the bail bond than the client may be entitled to full return of bail premium.

Please Note: This is a very tricky situation, We at All American Bail Bonds Corporate have a strict policy against the revocation of a bail bond for non pay, but I have had other people tell us that it happened to their loved ones. The bail bonding company isn't going to say they revoked the bail bond for non pay, their going to make up some of other excuse as to why they performed in the manner they did. If you find yourself in the position of a revoked bond, with no just cause, than you have the right to have the bondsman come to the court and explain his or her actions. These individuals get into the industry because it is a lucrative industry to work in; people can make a small fortune or they can lose big.
Because our industry is a cash business you will find not one not two but several shady organizations or individuals looking to make that Dollar.

How to locate a credible bail bondsman? In todays digital age it seems like everyone looks to the internet or more specifically Google, MSN, or Yahoo. Now a days you can simply go to the search engine and simply put the key words "Bail Bonds" and you'll get a plethora of choices most of which will have a fancy website with bogus reviews and address locations that don't even exists.

Another option to find a credible bail bonding company is the phone book, but really who still uses the phone book for anything now a days?, believe it or not the phone book is a great place to find a credible company. The reason we have found that phone book still work is that the company's who have been in business the longest, which means they probably do the best business, still will advertise in the paper media knowing they can reach the largest audience in addition to the world wide web.

The following can be used for researching company's either online or in a phone book, most of the following more relates to searching online.

1. When researching a company always check that the company has a valid insurance license in the state that you require their services. In California you want to go to the California department of Insurance, which can be located at  http://insurance.ca.gov/license-status/. Simply put in the name or license of the agent your checking and if there is in the system you'll get a hit. If you do get a valid hit check to make sure that the company has no negative history and if they do than you may want look into another company.
2. Check on the company's address! This is a big problem with bonding company's advertising here in Los Angeles. Any city you type in you get a list of offices for companies who claim to operate in that city, but in fact there mostly bogus. Try it, go to Google and type in Palmdale Ca Bail Bonds (where All American Bail Bonds corporate office is located). Now take any company and go to the department of insurances web site and enter the company's license number, If their legitimate than they should have a license number listed on their website.
3. Once you have found a company that you wish to use call them and begin to the ask the questions. Don't be afraid to ask the company that your calling all the questions you like, we work for you and if you don't feel comfortable with that company than it's time to call someone else.
4. Once you have found the company you want use and you have agreed upon the payments and percentage rate than go to their local office and begin the paperwork. Here in California all the paperwork that you do has been approved by the Department of Insurance and much of it might feel unnecessary because of its redundancy but that's for your protection. We want to make sure that you have a complete understanding of what your signing. 5. Once the paperwork is completed, the agent has done everything required by law and its surety, the agent will post the bond on the cleared inmate and await their release for further paperwork.

Now hopefully everything has gone the way its suppose to, you'll loved one should be out of jail with a future court date and everyone is happy. But what do you do if the bail agent doesn't perform to your expectations.

L.A. Arson Watch Task Force From Bail Bondsman In West Hollywood

During the early morning hours of Thursday, December 29, 2011, two persons were arrested in the Hollywood area in unrelated arson incidents where four fires and one attempted fire occurred. The arsons involved trash can fires and a vehicle fire that extended to an apartment building. Samuel Arrington 22 years old was charged with arson of an inhabited dwelling ($75,000 bail) and Alejandro Pineda 55 years old was charged with arson of property ($50,000 bail).

During the early morning hours of Friday, December 30, 2011, a series of 17 car/structure fires developed; five in West Hollywood and 12 in Hollywood. Following this series of fires a Joint Arson Task Force comprised of the Los Angeles City Fire Department, Los Angeles Police Department, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the County of Los Angeles Fire Department, the District Attorney’s Office, and the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives was assembled.

In the early evening hours of Friday, December 30, 2011, and through the early morning hours of Saturday, December 31, 2011, 16 additional vehicle/structure fires occurred; four in Hollywood, 11 in North Hollywood, and one in Sunland. An additional car fire occurred in the City of Burbank.

On Saturday evening, December 31, 2011, 8 additional car/structure fires occurred; 6 in Hollywood and two in West Hollywood.

During the early morning hours of January 2, 2012, 11 additional car/structure fires occurred; two in West Hollywood, two in Hollywood, and seven in North Hollywood.

This string of fires has resulted in one fire fighter and one citizen injury; there have been no fatalities to date.

The Task Force has worked together around the clock and is currently reviewing more than 100 clues, mapping out the sequence of the fires that occurred, interviewing hundreds of witnesses, and canvassing the 53 fire scenes as part of this active investigation. Hundreds of investigators and uniform personnel from throughout the City and County of Los Angeles have been deployed to assist. Additionally, multiple search warrants have been authored and served as part of this investigation.

To date these fires have caused nearly 3 million dollars of damage to vehicles and structures.

On Monday, January 2, 2012, shortly after 3:00 a.m., a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputy assigned to West Hollywood Station stopped the driver of a van near Sunset Blvd. and Fairfax Ave in the City of Los Angeles. The van resembled a description provided by the Arson Task Force as possibly being related to the recent fires and the driver resembled the person of interest seen in a videotape released by the multi-agency Arson Task Force. The driver was detained and investigators with the Arson Task Force were notified. Subsequent to interviewing this individual, he was placed under arrest.

The L.A. Arson Watch Joint Task Force was formed between the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Los Angeles Police Department, Los Angeles Fire Department, Los Angeles County Fire Department, and members of the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives to investigate the fires set throughout the Los Angeles area and to apprehend the suspect or suspects responsible for these heinous acts.

A combination of rewards in the sum of $60,000 are being offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of a person or persons responsible for these dangerous fires.
